A full body harness is a great solution to many workplace and home related injuries. There are many different types of these protective gear designed for a variety of purposes. In a work environment full body harnesses are often used by those workers who perform tasks involving direct contact with objects on the ground. For example, a forklift operator may use this type of protective gear to provide them with a safer, more secure position while they are working in the bucket of the forklift. In a home setting full body harnesses are often used by people who perform physically demanding jobs, such as those who lift heavy items or operate the family truck.
The full body harness comes in several types depending upon their use. A front entry position is often provided by this type of safety gear for those jobs that require entering a confined space. This often includes: manual fall arrest buckle, front strap anchor point/retractor body wear, and secondary front strap anchor point. A rear entry position is provided by this type of equipment for jobs that require moving from one confined space to another. This may include: semi-automatic belt anchor point, manual fall arrest buckle, and secondary front strap anchor point.
The full body harness has been designed with a number of different connectors depending upon their application. These body parts can either be fastened through the use of one set of straps, or they can be fastened through the use of several different ones depending upon the work positioning. The most common, and probably the least expensive, way that the connector body wear is fastened is through the use of one set of straps which connect the two parts together and ensure a tight fit. The least expensive and safest way that this safety gear is fastened is through the use of a secondary attachment. This secondary attachment is usually a retractable or clip-on piece of material that attaches to the front or back of the full body harness by way of a spring clip.
